Overview
The MSO5104HD is a 1 GHz 4-channel 12-bit bench oscilloscope with a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen. It samples at 5 GSa/s with 500 Mpts memory depth and captures waveforms at up to 1,500,000 wfms/s using Ultra Phosphor 3.0 display technology. The 12-bit ADC provides 16× greater vertical resolution than conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes — a significant advantage for resolving small signals, measuring power supply ripple, and characterizing precision analog circuits.
RS-232, UART, I²C, SPI, CAN, LIN decoding is included standard. Additional protocols (CAN-FD, FlexRay, SENT, Audio, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Manchester, 1-Wire, CAN-XL, I3C) are available as optional licenses.

The spectrum analyzer leverages the 5 GSa/s sample rate for up to 2.5 GHz frequency span — useful for characterizing wideband signals, identifying spurious emissions, and verifying clock harmonics at frequencies beyond what 2.5 GSa/s instruments can analyze.

What is the advantage of 12-bit resolution?
A 12-bit ADC provides 4,096 vertical levels compared to 256 for 8-bit scopes — 16× greater detail. Can I add digital channels?
Yes. The UT-M15 logic probe pod adds 16 digital channels for mixed-signal debugging with time-correlated analog and digital views.
