MSO5000HD-1WIRE Embedded Systems 1-Wire Serial Bus Trigger and Analysis
Overview
The MSO5000HD-1WIRE adds 1-Wire protocol triggering, decoding, and search to your MSO5000HD Series oscilloscope — for temperature sensors (DS18B20), iButton devices, EEPROMs, and battery fuel gauges.
Single-wire bidirectional bus where timing is critical. Decodes reset pulses, presence detection, ROM commands, and data bytes on the waveform. The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.
Key Features
- 1-Wire Triggering — Trigger on reset/presence sequences, ROM commands, or data bytes.
- Real-Time Decoding — Decoded transactions with reset, presence, command, and data fields labeled.
- Timing Verification — Read/write slot timing for specification compliance checking.
- ROM ID Display — Shows 64-bit ROM IDs for device identification and enumeration.
- Lifetime License Activation — activate once, owned for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no renewals, no maintenance fees.
When You Need This Option
The option fits the following workflows:
- Temperature Sensor Debug — DS18B20 fails to respond intermittently. Decode to verify reset/presence timing and parasitic power.
- Device Enumeration — Search algorithm not finding all devices. Decode ROM search commands to find where enumeration diverges.
Compatibility
This option is compatible with all MSO5000HD Series oscilloscopes: MSO5034HD (350 MHz), MSO5054HD (500 MHz), and MSO5104HD (1 GHz).
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I buy this individually or get a bundle?
If you only need 1-Wire, the individual license covers exactly that protocol. The BND bundle includes every protocol in the series.
How is this option activated?
The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number. After purchase, the license is registered on the UNI-T website to generate the license file, which is then loaded onto the instrument from a USB drive through the option-install menu. Refer to the oscilloscope's user manual for the step-by-step procedure.
Is the license permanent, or does it require renewal?
The license is permanent — a one-time purchase that stays active for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no annual renewals, and no expiration.
