UPO6056HD | 500 MHz 6-Channel 12-Bit High-Resolution Oscilloscope
Overview
With six 500 MHz analog channels and a 12-bit ADC, the UPO6056HD samples at up to 5 GSa/s, stores up to 500 Mpts per channel and captures 500,000 wfms/s, or 1,000,000 wfms/s in sequence mode, on a 12.1-inch 1280 × 800 touchscreen.
Six channels on one timebase take three voltages and three currents at the same moment, the set a three-phase measurement needs, or a mix of rails, clocks and serial lines on an embedded board. The 50 Ω path is specified to 500 MHz, with a calculated rise time of ≤ 0.70 ns (typical). Bandwidth can be raised later by license: UPO6000HD-BW5MT1G (500 MHz to 1 GHz) (Optional).
A spectrum analyzer (5 Mpts FFT), 4-digit digital voltmeter, 7-digit frequency counter, histograms, mask test and RS232/422/485/UART, I²C and SPI decoding are built in. Automotive, audio, MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC 429 and Manchester decoders, power and three-phase power analysis, and timing analysis are available as options. Backed by the 3+2 warranty.

Detailed Features
Six Channels at 500 MHz, Upgradeable to 1 GHz
Six 12-bit channels at 500 MHz, with the 1 MΩ path specified to the full 500 MHz. The ADC resolves 4,096 levels, 16 times an 8-bit design, so ripple and settling detail stay visible without averaging.
When a project needs more bandwidth, the UPO6000HD-BW5MT1G license (Optional) raises it to 1 GHz on the instrument already on the bench.
The same signal on an 8-bit (left) and 12-bit (right) acquisition.
All-in-One Measurement Platform
The UPO6000HD combines an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, digital voltmeter, frequency counter and protocol analyzer as standard, with power, three-phase power and timing analysis as options, all on the same screen and timebase.
Options install from a license file on a USB drive, so capability can be added to an instrument already in use, and every option can be tried for 540 hours first.
Standard and optional functions on one platform; optional functions require the matching license.
500,000 Waveforms per Second
Ultra Phosphor 3.0 processes acquisitions at 30 Gbps through a parallel graphics-mapping matrix, capturing 500,000 wfms/s with 256 intensity levels so frequent and rare events read differently on screen. In sequence mode the capture rate rises to 1,000,000 wfms/s, with up to 400,000 frames and a minimum trigger interval under 1,000 ns.
Hardware waveform recording keeps up to 400,000 frames for frame-by-frame or continuous playback, with measurements and math on the recorded data, and the frames export to USB storage.
Intensity grading shows how often each trace occurs.
Three-Phase Power Analysis (Optional)
The UPO6000HD-PWR option includes three-phase power analysis: synchronous capture of three voltages and three currents, with one-step measurement of power quality, harmonics, ripple, efficiency and DQ0, and a live space-vector display.
With six channels on one timebase, the UPO6056HD takes all six three-phase signals together for EV drive systems, industrial motors and renewable-energy inverters.

Power Analysis (Optional)
The same option adds twelve power measurements: power quality, harmonics, inrush current, RDS(on), switching loss, slew rate, safe operating area, modulation, ripple, turn-on/turn-off time, transient response and efficiency. Harmonics are measured to the 40th and checked against IEC 61000-3-2 Class A, B, C or D limits.
Select the analysis, connect voltage and current probes as the on-screen diagram shows, assign the channels and read the results as waveforms, a table and statistics.
Power quality results with voltage and current waveforms.
Protocol Trigger and Decode
RS232/422/485/UART, I²C and SPI trigger and decode are standard. Options add CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay and SENT for automotive work, audio buses (I²S, left-justified, right-justified, TDM), MIL-STD-1553B and ARINC 429 avionics buses and Manchester, 12 protocols in all.
Up to four buses decode at once from any analog channel. Decoding works while stopped or recording, with an event list, search and CSV, HTML or PDF export.
Decoded serial traffic with the event table.
Timing Analysis (Optional)
The UPO6000HD-TIMING option checks bus timing on I²C, SPI, CAN, I²S, UART and LIN, plus reset and switch sequences: pulse width, amplitude, edges, setup time and hold time.
Each parameter is compared against its limit with a pass/fail result, and the results export as a report.
I²C timing analysis with pass/fail per parameter.
Measurements and Statistics
56 automated measurements cover voltage, time, area, burst, delay and phase. 27 can be on screen at once, and each one can show statistics as a histogram or a trend chart, so drift and outliers are visible without exporting data.
A parameter snapshot shows 39 items for one channel, and precision mode measures across the full memory in hardware rather than the screen record.
Measurement statistics with a trend plot.
Zone Trigger
Draw up to two rectangles on the touchscreen and the zone trigger keeps only waveforms that cross, or avoid, those areas, which isolates an intermittent glitch without building a complex trigger. The standard set adds edge, pulse width, video, slope, runt, window, delay, timeout, duration, setup and hold, Nth edge and pattern triggers.
Two zones: one the waveform must cross, one it must avoid.
Deep Memory with Search and Navigation
Up to 500 Mpts per channel holds long bursts at a high sample rate. Search marks every edge, pulse width, slope, runt, window, delay, timeout, duration, setup-and-hold, Nth-edge or pattern event across the record.
Results appear as an event list; select an entry to jump to it, or step through events, time positions and markers.
Search marks each matching event across the record.
Hardware Mask Test
Build a limit mask from a reference waveform and the hardware-accelerated pass/fail test reports the failure rate in seconds. On failure it can stop, sound the buzzer or save a screenshot, and the result is also available on the AUX output.
It suits incoming inspection, production-line checks and longer reliability runs.
Mask test with pass/fail counts.
Spectrum Analysis
The FFT runs up to 5 Mpts on four channels, with Hanning, Hamming, rectangular, Blackman and flat-top windows, a waterfall view, normal, average, max-hold and min-hold traces and automatic, manual or threshold markers.
Start, stop, center and span are set directly in frequency, so harmonics, switching noise and EMI sources can be examined alongside the time-domain view.
Time and frequency domain on one screen.
Voltmeter and Frequency Counter
A 4-digit DVM reads DC, AC RMS and AC+DC RMS on any analog channel with a limit alarm, and a 7-digit hardware counter measures frequency, period and totals with adjustable refresh time and resolution.
Both run alongside the waveform display, so quick checks need no second instrument.
Counter (left) and DVM (right) readouts.
Histograms and Math
Horizontal and vertical histograms quantify jitter and noise distributions, with mean, median, mode, standard deviation and peak-to-peak statistics. Up to eight math waveforms combine basic operations, low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and band-stop filters and a 21-option equation editor.
Touchscreen, Keys and Remote Control
The 12.1-inch 1280 × 800 capacitive touchscreen is fully laminated and supports tap, drag, pinch and box-zoom gestures, while dedicated keys and optical-encoder knobs (rated for 200,000 presses and 1 million rotations) stay on the front panel. A USB mouse and keyboard also work.
Over LAN, the built-in web server shows the same display and controls in a PC or phone browser, SCPI supports automation, and the free UNI-T Instrument Manager connects over LAN or USB. Firmware updates install from a USB drive or online.
Browser-based control from a PC or mobile device.
