UPO6000HD-PWR Power Analysis Option (including advanced power analysis and three-phase power analysis)

Overview

The UPO6000HD-PWR turns a UPO6000HD Series oscilloscope into a power analyzer. Choose an analysis, connect voltage and current probes as the on-screen diagram shows, and the oscilloscope configures its channels and reports results as waveforms, a result table and statistics.

Twelve analyses cover the converter from AC input to output, and three-phase power analysis uses six of the channels for three voltages and three currents together.

The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.

Key Features

  • Input analysis — power quality (RMS and peak voltage and current, crest factors, real, reactive and apparent power, power factor, phase angle), harmonics to the 40th against IEC 61000-3-2 Class A, B, C or D, and inrush current.
  • Switching device analysis — switching loss, RDS(on), slew rate and safe operating area.
  • Output and loop analysis — ripple, modulation, turn-on/turn-off time, transient response and efficiency.
  • Three-phase power analysis — power quality, harmonics, ripple, efficiency and DQ0 analysis with a live space-vector display.
  • Lifetime license — activated once, permanent for the life of the instrument.

When You Need This Option

  • SMPS and converter design: switching loss, SOA and efficiency at every load point.
  • Motor drives, EV traction inverters and renewable-energy inverters: three-phase power quality, harmonics and DQ0.

Compatibility

For the UPO6000HD Series: UPO6108HD, UPO6106HD, UPO6058HD, UPO6056HD, UPO6038HD and UPO6036HD. Keep the oscilloscope on the latest UNI-T firmware.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need special probes?

Yes. Power analysis needs a current probe and, for floating or line-referenced measurements, a high-voltage differential probe. Three-phase analysis needs three voltage and three current inputs.

How is this option activated?

Buy the option key from your UNI-T distributor with the oscilloscope's serial number. Enter the key and serial number on the License Activation page of the UNI-T website to generate a license file, copy it to the root of a USB drive and activate it under Utility > Options. The Options screen then shows the option as Activated, with a trial duration of Permanent.

Can I try it first, and is the license permanent?

Yes to both. Every UPO6000HD option includes a 540-hour trial on the instrument. Once activated, the license is permanent for the life of the oscilloscope.
