MSO6000HDP-CTSUSB20 USB 2.0 Compliance Analysis Option

Overview

The MSO6000HDP-CTSUSB20 runs automated USB 2.0 electrical compliance tests on an MSO6000HDP Series oscilloscope, following the USB-IF specification.

Each test sets up the oscilloscope automatically, shows how to connect it to the device under test, and records the result against the limit.

The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.

What It Tests

Covers Low-, Full- and High-Speed signal quality for a device, host or hub: eye diagram, end-of-packet width, signal rate, edge monotonicity, jitter, edge rates and rise/fall time. High-Speed non-signal-quality tests include chirp, suspend, resume, reset, packet parameters and J/K and SE0 voltages, all against the USB-IF limits.

The UT-USB20-SQ-HD fixture does not cover receiver sensitivity, and power tests are not yet supported.

Key Features

  • Automated tests — run a single test item or a full batch, with the oscilloscope configured for each item.
  • Guided connection — a visual connection and setup diagram for each test.
  • Waveform preview — check the captured signal before a result is reported.
  • Reports — test details, results, pass/fail status, margins and waveform images, exported as CSV or PDF.
  • Test limits — the standard's limits, or limits you define.
  • Repeat runs — re-test and compare rounds to check the effect of a design change.
  • What else you need — an active differential probe of at least 2 GHz (UT-PD2500), two active single-ended probes of at least 2 GHz (UT-PA2000), the UT-USB20-SQ-HD USB 2.0 test fixture, and the USB-IF HSETT or XHSETT packet software on a PC.

Compatibility

For the MSO6000HDP Series. The USB 2.0 tests need an oscilloscope with at least 2 GHz bandwidth: the MSO6204HDP, or an MSO6104HDP upgraded to 2 GHz with MSO6000HDP-BW1GT2G.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this option activated?

Buy the option from your UNI-T distributor with the oscilloscope's serial number. You receive a license certificate; register it on the License Activation page of the UNI-T website with the instrument serial number to get the license file. Copy the file to the root of a USB drive, connect it to the oscilloscope and install it from the Option Install menu. Utility > Options then shows the option as Activated, with a trial duration of Permanent.

Can I try it first, and is the license permanent?

Yes to both. Every MSO6000HDP option includes a 540-hour trial on the instrument. Once activated, the license is permanent for the life of the oscilloscope.

Do I need anything besides the option?

Yes: an active differential probe of at least 2 GHz (UT-PD2500), two active single-ended probes of at least 2 GHz (UT-PA2000), the UT-USB20-SQ-HD USB 2.0 test fixture, and the USB-IF HSETT or XHSETT packet software on a PC.
