MSO8000HD Oscilloscopes

The MSO8000HD is UNI-T's lab-grade 12-bit mixed signal oscilloscope series, in three models: the MSO8504HD at 5 GHz, the MSO8604HD at 6 GHz and the MSO8804HD at 8 GHz. All three share a 20 GSa/s digitizer, a native 12-bit ADC, 1 Gpts of standard memory per channel on half channels (2 Gpts with MSO8000HD-MD2G), ≥1,000,000 wfms/s capture, 4 analog plus 16 digital channels and a 15.6-inch FHD touch display. The MSO8504HD and MSO8604HD add a 1 MΩ input path specified to 500 MHz, ship with four UT-P07 high-impedance probes and support MSO8000HD-PWR power analysis; the MSO8804HD is 50 Ω only and built for signal-integrity work. Options are lifetime licenses: more than 16 optional protocol decoders, jitter and eye-diagram analysis, conformance test packages for USB 2.0, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T and MIPI D-PHY, a dual-channel 60 MHz AWG, the 16-channel logic analyzer, embedded MATLAB (requires your own MATLAB license, not included) and memory expansion to 2 Gpts.

MSO8000HD Buying Guide

Three Lab-Grade 12-Bit Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes, One Platform

The MSO8000HD series shares one chassis, one 20 GSa/s digitizer, a native 12-bit ADC, 1 Gpts of standard memory (2 Gpts optional), ≥1,000,000 wfms/s capture and a 15.6-inch FHD touch display across all three models. They differ in bandwidth, input paths and what they are built to measure. This guide helps you pick the right one.

Compare the Models

Model Bandwidth (half / full channel) Rise Time (50 Ω) Input Paths Probes Included Power Analysis Built For
MSO8504HD 5 GHz / 4 GHz ≤ 88 ps 50 Ω + 1 MΩ (500 MHz) 2× UT-P6150, 4× UT-P07 MSO8000HD-PWR (Optional) Power electronics, converters, motor drives, new-energy systems
MSO8604HD 6 GHz / 4 GHz ≤ 73 ps 50 Ω + 1 MΩ (500 MHz) 2× UT-P6150, 4× UT-P07 MSO8000HD-PWR (Optional) Signal integrity and power integrity on one bench
MSO8804HD 8 GHz / 4 GHz ≤ 55 ps 50 Ω only 2× UT-P6150 — High-speed serial and signal-integrity validation

Every model: 20 GSa/s (10 GSa/s with all four channels), 12-bit resolution with ERES to 16 bits, 500 Mpts/CH full-channel and 1 Gpts/CH half-channel memory as standard, 4 analog + 16 digital channels (digital channels with MSO8000HD-LA, Optional), 74 automated measurements, and the UNI-T 3+2 warranty.

Which One Fits Your Work?

  • Switching supplies, inverters, chargers and motor drives: MSO8504HD. The 1 MΩ path takes current probes and high-voltage differential probes directly, and MSO8000HD-PWR (Optional) automates switching loss, SOA, efficiency, ripple, inrush and Bode measurements.
  • Processor, FPGA and SerDes boards where the data lanes and the power rails both matter: MSO8604HD. 6 GHz on 50 Ω for eye diagrams and jitter, plus the 1 MΩ path for rail ripple, sequencing, PSRR and control-loop response.
  • The fastest edges and the tightest timing margins: MSO8804HD. 8 GHz and ≤ 55 ps rise time on 50 Ω inputs, for high-speed serial validation, jitter decomposition and conformance pre-testing.

Options and Accessories

Options are lifetime licenses activated on the instrument. Add them individually or as bundles:

  • Protocol decode: RS-232/422/485/UART, I²C, SPI, CAN and LIN standard; CAN-FD, FlexRay, SENT, I3C, PSI5, USB 2.0, PCIe 2.0, Ethernet, NRZ, Manchester, 8b/10b, SMBus, SPMI, AudioBus, MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429 optional, or all of them as MSO8000HD-BND.
  • Analysis: jitter and eye diagram (MSO8000HD-JITTER), power analysis (MSO8000HD-PWR, MSO8504HD and MSO8604HD), embedded MATLAB (MSO8000HD-MAT; a valid MathWorks MATLAB license is required and is not included).
  • Conformance: USB 2.0, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T and MIPI D-PHY v1.2 test packages with pass/fail reporting.
  • Hardware: 2 Gpts memory (MSO8000HD-MD2G), dual-channel 60 MHz AWG (MSO8000HD-AWG), 16-channel logic analyzer (MSO8000HD-LA with the UT-M15 probe).
  • Probes: active differential (UT-PD1500, UT-PD2500), power rail (UT-PR2060), and on the MSO8504HD and MSO8604HD current probes and high-voltage differential probes.
