UPO7000L-JITTER Jitter Analysis and Eye Diagram Option
Overview
The UPO7000L-JITTER adds advanced jitter analysis and eye diagram measurements for signal integrity assessment in high-speed serial links and clock systems.
For PCIe, USB, HDMI, DDR, or custom serial links — decompose timing variations and verify receiver requirements with eye diagrams. The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.
Key Features
- Jitter Decomposition — Separates RJ, DJ, PJ, DDJ, and DCD for root-cause analysis.
- Eye Diagram — Statistical eye from serial data for signal quality — eye height, width, mask margin.
- Bathtub Curve — BER vs. sampling position for link margin prediction.
- Clock Jitter — Period jitter, cycle-to-cycle, and TIE for clock characterization.
- Lifetime License Activation — activate once, owned for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no renewals, no maintenance fees.
When You Need This Option
The option fits the following workflows:
- Serial Link Validation — Intermittent bit errors. Generate eye diagram for quality assessment, decompose jitter to find the source.
- Clock Characterization — Measure period/cycle-to-cycle jitter on an oscillator for PLL and data converter requirements.
Compatibility
This option is compatible with all UPO7000L Series oscilloscopes: UPO7104L (1 GHz) and UPO7204L (2 GHz). The same capability is offered on other UNI-T oscilloscope families: MSO7000X, MSO8000HD.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this option activated?
The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number. After purchase, the license is registered on the UNI-T website to generate the license file, which is then loaded onto the instrument from a USB drive through the option-install menu. Refer to the oscilloscope's user manual for the step-by-step procedure.
Is the license permanent, or does it require renewal?
The license is permanent — a one-time purchase that stays active for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no annual renewals, and no expiration.
