UPO6000LP-LIN Automotive Serial Bus Trigger and Analysis Option (LIN)
Overview
The UPO6000LP-LIN adds Local Interconnect Network (LIN) triggering and decoding to your UPO6000LP Series oscilloscope. It supports LIN v1.x and v2.x at the standard bitrates from 1.2 kbps to 20 kbps (including 10.417 and 19.2 kbps) or a custom rate, with optional ID parity included in the decode.
Why it matters: LIN runs the low-cost end of the vehicle — window lifts, seat modules, mirrors, climate flaps, switch panels — and its failures are typically wake-up, sync or checksum problems on a single-wire bus. The option lets you trigger on exactly those conditions and see the physical signal behind them.
The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.

- Protocol-Aware Triggering — Trigger on sync, identifier, data (1–8 bytes), ID and data, wake-up frame or sleep frame.
- Error Triggers — Trigger specifically on synchronization errors, ID parity errors or checksum errors.
- Event List and Export — Decoded frames appear on the trace and in a time-stamped event list (hex, decimal or binary), which can be saved as CSV, HTML or PDF to internal storage or USB for reports and offline analysis.
- Four Decoders at Once — Up to four buses can be decoded simultaneously (Decode 1–4), so this protocol can be read alongside the standard RS-232/UART, I²C and SPI decoders on the same capture.

When You Need This Option
The option fits the following workflows:
- Body Electronics Bring-Up — Confirm a LIN slave answers its header correctly and within schedule, and that it wakes and sleeps when the master tells it to.
- Checksum and Parity Faults — Catch the one bad frame in a long capture with an error trigger, then inspect the waveform for the edge or level problem that caused it.

This option is compatible with all UPO6000LP Series oscilloscopes: UPO6034LP (350 MHz, 4 ch), UPO6038LP (350 MHz, 8 ch), UPO6054LP (500 MHz, 4 ch), UPO6058LP (500 MHz, 8 ch), UPO6104LP (1 GHz, 4 ch) and UPO6108LP (1 GHz, 8 ch).

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I buy this individually or get a bundle?
If LIN is the only optional protocol you need, this license covers exactly that. Most vehicle programmes also need CAN or CAN-FD, and UPO6000LP-AUTO covers CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay and SENT in one license.
How is this option activated?
Buy the option key from your UNI-T distributor, then enter the key and the oscilloscope's serial number on the License Activation page of the UNI-T website to generate a license file. Copy the file to the root of a USB drive and activate it under Utility > Options. The Options screen then lists the option as Activated, with a duration of Permanent.
Can I try it first, and is the license permanent?
Yes to both. Every UPO6000LP option includes a 540-hour trial on the instrument, so you can prove it on your own hardware before you buy. Once activated, the license is permanent for the life of the oscilloscope — no subscriptions, no renewals and no expiration.
