MSO2000X-AUDIO Audio Serial Bus Trigger and Analysis Options (I2S, LJ, RJ, TDM)

Overview

The MSO2000X-AUDIO adds audio serial bus triggering, decoding, and search for I2S, Left-Justified, Right-Justified, and TDM protocols to your MSO2000X Series oscilloscope β€” the standard digital audio interfaces between DACs, ADCs, codecs, and DSPs.

Designing audio hardware and tracking down clicks, pops, or dropouts? This option shows decoded audio sample values overlaid on clock and data waveforms. The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.

Key Features

  • Multi-Format Support β€” Decodes I2S, LJ, RJ, and TDM. Configurable word size (16/24/32-bit) and channel count.
  • Sample-Level Triggering β€” Trigger on specific audio sample values or ranges β€” capture clipping, silence, or test tones.
  • Real-Time Decoding β€” Decoded samples display aligned with BCLK, LRCLK/WS, and data for timing verification.
  • Channel Identification β€” Labels left/right channels or TDM time slots for multi-channel debugging.
  • Lifetime License Activation β€” activate once, owned for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no renewals, no maintenance fees.

When You Need This Option

The option fits the following workflows:

  • DAC Interface Verification β€” Decode I2S data to verify sample values and check BCLK/LRCLK timing for data latching issues causing distortion.
  • Infotainment Debug β€” An amplifier clicks during source switching. Trigger on the TDM stream to identify invalid samples, clock glitches, or muting logic issues.

Compatibility

This option is compatible with all MSO2000X Series oscilloscopes: MSO2104X (100 MHz), MSO2204X (200 MHz), MSO2304X (300 MHz). The same capability is offered on other UNI-T oscilloscope families: MSO3000HD, MSO3000X, MSO5000HD, MSO7000X, MSO8000HD, UPO7000L.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I buy this individually or get a bundle?

If you only need Audio (I2S/LJ/RJ/TDM), the individual license covers exactly that protocol. The BND bundle includes every protocol in the series.

How is this option activated?

The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number. After purchase, the license is registered on the UNI-T website to generate the license file, which is then loaded onto the instrument from a USB drive through the option-install menu. Refer to the oscilloscope's user manual for the step-by-step procedure.

Is the license permanent, or does it require renewal?

The license is permanent β€” a one-time purchase that stays active for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no annual renewals, and no expiration.
