MSO8000HD-SPMI Power Management Serial Option
Overview
The MSO8000HD-SPMI adds SPMI (System Power Management Interface) protocol decode to your MSO8000HD Series oscilloscope — a MIPI protocol for mobile processor-to-PMIC communication.
SPMI controls voltage regulators, battery charging, and power sequencing in mobile devices. Decode reveals register accesses driving the power architecture. The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.
Key Features
- SPMI Decoding — Command sequences, register read/write, master/slave transactions.
- Triggering — Trigger on slave addresses, register addresses, data values, or command types.
- Multi-Master Support — Identifies transactions from multiple bus masters.
- Error Detection — Bus contention, parity errors, protocol violations.
- Lifetime License Activation — activate once, owned for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no renewals, no maintenance fees.
When You Need This Option
The option fits the following workflows:
- PMIC Bring-Up — PMIC not configuring correctly. Decode SPMI to verify register writes during power-up sequence.
- Power Sequencing — Intermittent boot failures. Capture SPMI during boot to find which register write fails.
Compatibility
This option is compatible with the MSO8000HD Series: MSO8804HD (8 GHz).
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I buy this individually or get a bundle?
If you only need SPMI, the individual license covers exactly that protocol. The BND bundle includes every protocol in the series.
How is this option activated?
The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number. After purchase, the license is registered on the UNI-T website to generate the license file, which is then loaded onto the instrument from a USB drive through the option-install menu. Refer to the oscilloscope's user manual for the step-by-step procedure.
Is the license permanent, or does it require renewal?
The license is permanent — a one-time purchase that stays active for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no annual renewals, and no expiration.
