MSO3054HD | 500 MHz 4Ch 12-Bit Mixed Signal Oscilloscope

Overview

The MSO3054HD is a 500 MHz 4-channel 12-bit bench oscilloscope with a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen. It samples at 2.5 GSa/s with 500 Mpts memory depth and captures waveforms at up to 1,500,000 wfms/s using Ultra Phosphor 3.0 display technology. The 12-bit ADC provides 16× greater vertical resolution than conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes — a significant advantage for resolving small signals, measuring power supply ripple, and characterizing precision analog circuits.

RS-232, UART, I²C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485 decoding is included standard. Additional protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay, SENT, Audio, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Manchester) are available as optional licenses.

Ultra Phosphor 3.0 High-Speed Capture

The 1,500,000 wfms/s capture rate combined with Ultra Phosphor 3.0 intensity grading reveals rare signal anomalies that slower scopes miss. The 12-bit ADC provides 16× greater vertical detail than 8-bit instruments, making it possible to see small signals riding on large ones — critical for power supply ripple analysis, sensor signal conditioning, and precision analog design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What protocols are included?

RS-232, UART, I²C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485 are included at no additional cost. CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay, SENT, Audio, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Manchester are available as optional licenses.

What is the advantage of 12-bit resolution?

A 12-bit ADC provides 4,096 vertical levels compared to 256 for 8-bit scopes — 16× greater detail. This reveals small signals riding on large ones, reduces quantization noise, and improves measurement accuracy on low-amplitude signals like power supply ripple, sensor outputs, and precision analog circuits.

Can I add digital channels?

Yes. The UT-M15 logic probe pod adds 16 digital channels for mixed-signal debugging with time-correlated analog and digital views.

Can I add an AWG?

The AWG is available as an optional software license. Once activated, it provides dual-channel 25 MHz output.
