MSO3000X-CANFD Automotive CAN-FD Serial Bus Trigger and Analysis
Overview
The MSO3000X-CANFD adds CAN-FD (Controller Area Network with Flexible Data Rate) protocol triggering, decoding, and search to your MSO3000X Series oscilloscope. Decoded CAN-FD frames appear overlaid on the analog waveform — protocol data and electrical signals visible simultaneously.
CAN-FD supports payloads up to 64 bytes at up to 8 Mbit/s. Standard in vehicles from 2020 onward, this decode also handles classic CAN frames on the same bus. The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.

Compatibility

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need this if I already have classic CAN?
Yes. CAN and CAN-FD are separate protocols. CAN-FD decode also handles classic CAN frames on the same bus.
Should I buy this individually or get a bundle?
If you only need CAN-FD, the individual license covers exactly that protocol. The AUTO bundle adds the automotive protocols in one license. The BND bundle includes every protocol in the series.
How is this option activated?
The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number. After purchase, the license is registered on the UNI-T website to generate the license file, which is then loaded onto the instrument from a USB drive through the option-install menu. Is the license permanent, or does it require renewal?
