Overview
The MSO/UPO2000-EMBD adds RS232/UART, I2C, and SPI to your MSO/UPO2000 Series oscilloscope in a single license — the three most common embedded serial interfaces.
Individual total: . EMBD bundle: . You saves a substantial amount ( off).. The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.
Key Features
- What's Included — 3 protocols with full trigger, decode, and search:

- Lifetime License Activation — activate once, owned for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no renewals, no maintenance fees.
When You Need This Option
The option fits the following workflows:
- Microcontroller Bring-Up — Board has UART debug, I2C sensors, SPI flash. One bundle decodes all three.
- IoT Development — UART (cellular), I2C (sensors), SPI (config flash) — one license, three protocols.
Compatibility
This option is compatible with all MSO/UPO2000 Series oscilloscopes (MSO/UPO2102, 2104, 2202, 2204 and -S variants). The same capability is offered on other UNI-T oscilloscope families: MSO/UPO3000CS.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does EMBD include automotive protocols?
No. For automotive, see AUTO or BND.
How is this option activated?
The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the oscilloscope's serial number. After purchase, the license is registered on the UNI-T website to generate the license file, which is then loaded onto the instrument from a USB drive through the option-install menu. Refer to the oscilloscope's user manual for the step-by-step procedure.
Is the license permanent, or does it require renewal?
The license is permanent — a one-time purchase that stays active for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no annual renewals, and no expiration.
