MSO3000HD-MANCH – Manchester Encoding Protocol Decode Option

🧭 Decode Legacy and Custom Digital Communication with Confidence

The MSO3000HD-MANCH unlock enables full decoding and triggering of Manchester-encoded digital signals on your UNI-T MSO3000HD Series oscilloscope. Manchester encoding is used in a wide range of legacy, proprietary, and industrial communication protocols due to its built-in clock recovery and noise resilience. You'll find it in RFID systems, magnetic stripe cards, automotive sensors, industrial control interfaces, and some aerospace systems.

With this option, you gain bit-level visibility and accurate time-domain decoding of bi-phase signals that would otherwise appear as uninterpretable digital bursts.

✅ Included Protocols (No License Required)

Standard with all MSO3000HD models:

  • RS-232 / UART

  • I²C

  • SPI

🧩 Decoding Manchester-encoded signals requires the MSO3000HD-MANCH unlock.

🔓 What You Unlock with MSO3000HD-MANCH

Feature Description & Application Example
Clock Recovery & Decoding Recover embedded timing to decode data transitions. 📌 Used for custom protocols or RFID.
Trigger on Bit Sequences Capture known binary patterns, headers, or sync fields. 📌 Great for protocol reverse-engineering or ECU test.
Visual Bit Overlay Overlay binary decode on analog or digital waveforms. 📌 Used in EMI debug or bus timing inspection.
Adjustable Encoding Rules Configure rising/falling transition mapping. 📌 Supports legacy and vendor-specific implementations.
Exportable Bitstreams Save decoded data sequences with timestamps for analysis. 📌 Useful for validation or compliance records.

🧠 Real-World Use Cases

Legacy Automotive Sensor Interface

Decode Manchester-encoded signals from vehicle speed sensors, crankshaft position sensors, or magnetic pickups. Monitor bit timing and polarity changes.

Industrial Communication Reverse Engineering

When dealing with undocumented or custom equipment, decode Manchester streams to extract embedded commands, status, or ID sequences.

RFID and Low-Frequency Communications

Decode magnetic field-modulated RFID data (e.g., 125 kHz tags), including anti-collision frames or read/write transactions.

Aerospace & Military Equipment Testing

Verify Manchester timing and message content from legacy black-box systems or sensor interfaces with bi-phase encoding.

🔧 Features & Capabilities

  • Trigger on custom binary sequences or sync headers

  • View real-time decoded bits over analog or logic inputs

  • Adjustable polarity and timing thresholds

  • Decode both standard and inverted Manchester formats

  • Correlate decoded bits with analog noise, overshoot, or line errors

  • Export decoded streams for review or comparison

🛠️ Ideal Applications

  • Automotive crank or wheel speed sensor decoding

  • RFID system development or testing

  • Aerospace legacy interface monitoring

  • Industrial equipment teardown or reverse engineering

  • Signal integrity analysis in Manchester-based links

  • Education on digital signal encoding formats
