UTS3000A-PNM Phase Noise Measurement option for UTS3000A series
Overview
The UTS3000A-PNM adds dedicated phase noise measurement for oscillators, synthesizers, and clock sources β phase noise vs. offset frequency with high sensitivity. The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the spectrum analyzer's serial number and is permanent for the life of the instrument.
Key Features
- Phase Noise vs. Offset β Single-sideband phase noise from Hz to MHz offsets in one sweep.
- Auto Carrier Detection β Automatically identifies the carrier frequency.
- Integrated Phase Noise β Calculates jitter over a specified offset range.
- Spur Identification β Identifies discrete spurious signals in the phase noise spectrum.
- Lifetime License Activation β activate once, owned for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no renewals, no maintenance fees.
When You Need This Option
The option fits the following workflows:
- Oscillator Characterization β Measure TCXO/OCXO phase noise for PLL and data converter requirements.
- Synthesizer Validation β Verify synthesizer phase noise profile at critical offsets.
Compatibility
This option is compatible with all UTS3000A Series spectrum analyzers: UTS3015A (1.5 GHz), UTS3026A (2.6 GHz), UTS3036A (3.6 GHz), UTS3046A (4.5 GHz). The same capability is offered on other UNI-T spectrum analyzer families: UTS5000A, UTS7000A.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this option activated?
The option is enabled by a software license keyed to the spectrum analyzer's serial number. After purchase, the license is registered on the UNI-T website to generate the license file, which is then loaded onto the spectrum analyzer from a USB drive through the option-install menu. Refer to the spectrum analyzer's user manual for the step-by-step procedure.
Is the license permanent, or does it require renewal?
The license is permanent β a one-time purchase that stays active for the life of the instrument. No subscriptions, no annual renewals, and no expiration.
