UNI-T UTP3305 3Ch Linear DC Power Supply

Overview

The UTP3305 is a 335W three-channel linear bench supply for benches that need higher current than a 3A supply provides without giving up clean linear output. Two adjustable channels deliver 0–32V at 0–5A; a third channel provides a fixed 5V at 3A for logic-level power. Knobs, banana jacks, OVP/OCP via current-limit protection, and a front panel a first-year student gets back to default settings in under 30 seconds.

Linear regulation keeps output ripple under 1mVrms — no switching artifacts, no EMI signature competing with the circuit you're actually trying to characterize. CH1 and CH2 combine in series (up to 64V) or parallel (up to 10A), and a master-slave tracking mode keeps CH1 and CH2 synchronized when matched rails are needed for dual-supply analog work.

Key Features

  • Three Channels, 335W Total — CH1 and CH2: 0–32V / 0–5A adjustable. CH3: fixed 5V / 3A for logic-level power.
  • Linear Topology, ≤1 mVrms Ripple — Clean DC output with no switching frequency, no harmonic spurs, and load regulation of CV ≤1×10⁻⁴ + 3 mV.
  • Auto CV/CC Crossover with Current Limit Protection — The supply transitions automatically between constant-voltage and constant-current operation when the load steps, protecting both the DUT and the supply.
  • Series and Parallel Modes — Combine CH1+CH2 for up to 64V series or 10A parallel — front-panel selectable, no external wiring.
  • CH1/CH2 Master-Slave Tracking — Tracking mode synchronizes CH1 and CH2 for matched-rail testing (op-amp ±supplies, balanced analog stages, dual-supply mixed-signal designs).
  • 3-Bit Voltage and Current Dual Display — Independent voltage and current readouts per channel. No menus, no hidden settings — what you see is what the channel is doing.
  • Output ON/OFF Control — Front-panel master output button keeps you in command of when current actually leaves the supply.
  • Knob-and-Button Operation — No firmware to update, no PC software to install, no LAN port to configure. Front-panel only — designed to behave the same way on day one and year five.

Bench Power That Stays Out of the Way

The UTP3305 is the supply you put on a bench when the day's work is upstream of the power supply — circuit prototyping, board-level service, instructional labs where the lesson is signals or amplifiers, not procurement of a programmable instrument. The 5A current capability handles the higher-power loads where the UTP3303 runs out of headroom: small motors, transmitter front-ends, higher-current LED drive circuits, and parallel-mode 10A loads where two channels combine for current-hungry work.

For teaching labs and trade-school programs running 10–30 stations, this is the operational pitch: every student gets the same instrument with the same workflow, every shift. For service shops and small-team R&D benches, it's the supply you reach for when you don't want to think about the supply.

Applications

Teaching Labs & Trade Schools

Per-station cost that lets a 20-bench classroom stay inside budget, with 5A current handling the higher-power lab exercises (motor drive, power amplifiers, LED arrays).

Analog Bench Development

Dual 0–32V / 5A adjustable channels with master-slave tracking power op-amp ±supplies, audio amplifiers, and balanced analog stages with current headroom for class-AB and high-bias designs. Ripple under 1 mVrms keeps supply noise out of the measurement.

Service & Repair

Reliable bench supply for board-level service work where the device under test is a higher-current load — small motor drives, switch-mode supplies under test, automotive electronics. CV/CC auto crossover handles unknown loads safely.

Maker & Hobbyist Workshops

Three channels of clean linear power at a price point that makes sense for a workshop, with the current to drive higher-power projects: amateur radio rigs, EV-conversion bench testing, robotics prototyping. No software stack to maintain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the UTP3305 have USB or SCPI?

No. The UTP3305 is a fully analog, knob-and-button bench supply — no USB data interface, no LAN, no SCPI command set, no PC software. If your workflow needs SCPI control, the programmable counterparts in the UNI-T linear PSU family are the UDP3303C and UDP3305C (USB + RS-232) and the UDP3000S series (USB + LAN + LXI with web interface).

What's the difference between the UTP3305 and the UTP3303?

Output current. UTP3305 delivers 0–5A on CH1 and CH2 (335W total). UTP3303 delivers 0–3A on CH1 and CH2 (207W total). Voltage range, ripple, regulation, display, and feature set are otherwise identical between the two. Choose UTP3303 if 3A is enough; choose UTP3305 when you need to source above 3A on a single rail or up to 10A in parallel mode.

Why a linear supply instead of switching?

Linear topology produces fundamentally cleaner output — no switching frequency, no harmonic spurs, ripple under 1 mVrms. For analog bench work, audio circuits, low-noise sensor development, and any precision measurement where supply noise shows up in the result, the difference is measurable. The trade-off is lower efficiency and more heat, which at this power level on a bench is not a meaningful constraint.

What's included with the UTP3305?

The UTP3305 ships with the instrument, power cord, output cables, English user manual Ships from authorized US dealer.
