UNI-T UDP3305C 3Ch Advanced-Series Programmable Linear DC Power Supply
Overview
The UDP3305C is the higher-current sibling of the UDP3303C — same three-channel SCPI-programmable linear platform, with CH1 and CH2 raised to 0–30V at 0–5A for benches that need 5A on a rail without giving up clean linear output. Total output is 315W; CH3 cycles through 1.8V / 2.5V / 3.3V / 5V at 3.2A for digital subsystem powering. Linear regulation keeps output ripple under 1 mVrms.
CH1 and CH2 combine in series for up to 60V or in parallel for up to 10A — useful when the workload occasionally exceeds what a single 5A rail can deliver. SCPI over USB-Device or RS-232 lets the supply join an automated test rig at the same control reach as the UDP3303C; five preset storage groups (M1–M5) and a Digital I/O hardware ON/OFF pin pair complete the programmable workflow set. For higher-power R&D bench work, characterization sweeps in small-team test labs, and industrial maintenance benches where 5A on a programmable linear earns its place, the UDP3305C is the right point in the UDP3000C family.
UDP3305C — 3Ch 315W programmable linear bench power supply
Key Features
- Three Channels, 315W Total — SCPI Programmable — CH1 and CH2: 0–30V / 0–5A adjustable. CH3: switchable 1.8V / 2.5V / 3.3V / 5V at 3.2A. SCPI control over USB-Device or RS-232.
- 5A Per Adjustable Channel — Headroom for higher-power loads where the UDP3303C runs short: small motors, transmitter front-ends, higher-current LED drive, parallel-mode 10A loads.
- CH1+CH2 Parallel Mode to 10A — Software-routed parallel combination delivers up to 10A on a single output without external wiring between channel terminals. No jumper cables, no shorting bars.
- CH3 Logic-Rail Selector — Single front-panel button cycles CH3 through 1.8V / 2.5V / 3.3V / 5V at 3.2A. CMOS, microcontroller cores, legacy TTL, USB-class — covered without sacrificing CH1/CH2.
- Linear Topology, ≤1 mVrms Ripple — Load regulation tightens to ≤0.01% + 3 mV at currents ≤3A and ≤0.02% + 5 mV above 3A. The slightly relaxed spec at higher currents reflects pass-element behavior, not a soft cutoff.
- Programming Accuracy ≤0.1% + 30 mV — Voltage programming accuracy ≤0.1% + 30 mV; current programming accuracy ≤0.5% + 2 mA across the full 5A range.
- 10 mV / 1 mA Resolution — Four-digit voltage and current display per channel on EBTN LCD.
- Series Mode to 60V — Front-panel button combines CH1+CH2 in series for up to 60V output. SCPI exposes the same mode for automated test integration.
- OVP / OCP / OTP Protection — Configurable per-channel thresholds, plus over-temperature shutdown and keypad lock.
- Five Preset Storage Groups — M1–M5 store full instrument states for fast bench setup. Shutdown memory restores last settings on power-up.
- Front-Panel 5V/2A USB Charging Port (CH4) — Independent 5V/2A USB-A charging output. Charging output only — the data interfaces are USB-Device and RS-232 on the back panel.
- 3+2 Warranty — 3+2 warranty (3 years standard + 2 years with free registration). Free firmware updates over the product lifetime.
Detailed Features
5 Amps Per Channel — Real Bench Workhorse
The UDP3305C is the supply you reach for when 3A on the UDP3303C runs out before the workload does. Class-AB audio amplifiers, motor drivers in characterization, RF transmitter front-ends in alignment, prototype boards with high-current LED arrays — all live above the 3A line. Two adjustable channels at 0–30V/5A give you headroom on each rail; the parallel-mode 10A combination on CH1+CH2 handles the genuinely current-hungry workloads where bench power is the constraint. Load regulation tightens to ≤0.01% + 3 mV at currents up to 3A and ≤0.02% + 5 mV above 3A — the slightly relaxed spec at higher currents reflects pass-element behavior, not a soft cutoff. Linear topology, ≤1 mVrms ripple, full SCPI control across the entire 5A range.

Series, Parallel, and Tracking — One Button
CH1 and CH2 combine in series for up to 60V output, in parallel for up to 10A, and in master-slave tracking for matched-rail testing — all from front-panel buttons, no jumper cables, no shorting bars, no risk of miswiring. Series mode pairs CH1+ and CH2− as the live output terminals; parallel mode pairs CH1+/CH2+ as the high-current positive output. SCPI exposes the same modes for automated test integration. For benches that occasionally need a 60V rail for a higher-voltage prototype or a 10A rail for a current-hungry load, the configurability is built into the platform — no second supply required.

Applications
Higher-Power R&D Bench
5A per adjustable channel handles class-AB amplifier rails, motor driver characterization, RF transmitter alignment, and any prototype where 3A on the lower-tier supply runs short. SCPI control scripts the test sequence; ripple under 1 mVrms keeps supply noise out of the measurement at currents up to 5A.
Industrial Maintenance & Service
Programmable linear bench supply at 5A current capability for board-level service work and equipment test. SCPI over RS-232 integrates into existing maintenance shop test fixtures; OVP/OCP per-channel protection survives the connection mistakes that happen at 6am.
Small-Team Test Lab Characterization
SCPI over USB-Device and RS-232 integrates into LabVIEW, Python-VISA, and shell-driven test frameworks. Five preset groups speed bench setup between projects. Parallel-mode 10A handles high-current characterization the smaller-current platforms in this family can't source.
Teaching Labs & Higher-Power Curriculum
Per-station cost that lets a 20-bench classroom stay inside budget — with the current capability for higher-power lab exercises (motor drive, power amplifiers, LED arrays). The 3+2 warranty covers a multi-cohort curriculum cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the UDP3303C and the UDP3305C?
Output current. UDP3303C delivers 0–3A on CH1 and CH2 (195W total). UDP3305C delivers 0–5A on CH1 and CH2 (315W total). Voltage range, CH3 logic-rail selector, charging port, interfaces, SCPI command set, and feature set are otherwise identical. Choose UDP3303C if 3A is enough; choose UDP3305C when you need to source above 3A on a single rail or up to 10A in parallel mode.
Does the UDP3305C have LAN?
No. The UDP3305C's data interfaces are USB-Device and RS-232 only. If your workflow needs LAN (with LXI/web interface), the UDP3000S series adds it on the same linear-PSU platform with up to 4 channels. The Digital I/O pin pair on the back panel handles hardware ON/OFF only.
How well does the supply hold regulation above 3A?
Load regulation is specified as ≤0.01% + 3 mV at currents up to 3A, and ≤0.02% + 5 mV above 3A. The supply is designed for clean operation across the full 5A range; the slightly relaxed spec above 3A reflects the higher-current pass-element behavior, not a soft cutoff.
Can CH1 and CH2 deliver 10A combined?
Yes — the parallel-mode combination of CH1+CH2 delivers up to 10A on a single output. Engage parallel mode from the front panel (PARA button) or via SCPI; the front-panel jacks repurpose so CH1+ and CH2+ share the high-current positive terminal. Both channels remain at the same voltage setpoint (set on CH1).
What's included with the UDP3305C?
The UDP3305C ships with the instrument, power cord, USB communication cable (UT-D14), RS-232 communication line, alligator clip test leads, English user manual, and UNI-T's 3+2 warranty. Ships from authorized US dealer.
