UTS5000A-FDD-LTE: FDD-LTE Demodulation Analysis

Overview

The UTS5000A-FDD-LTE software option enables comprehensive FDD-LTE (Frequency Division Duplex LTE) signal analysis on the UTS5000A Series signal analyzer, including EVM measurement, constellation display, resource block analysis, and 3GPP compliance verification. This option supports FDD-LTE carrier bandwidths from 1.4 MHz to 20 MHz with complete downlink and uplink demodulation capabilities, predefined 3GPP test models, and automated measurement routines per 3GPP TS 36.104. FDD-LTE is the dominant LTE deployment mode in North America and many global markets, making this option essential for base station development, device verification, and network optimization.

Key Features

  • FDD-LTE Demodulation: Complete downlink and uplink signal analysis
  • 3GPP Test Models: Downlink TM1.1, TM2, TM2a, TM2b, TM3.1, TM3.1a, TM3.1b, TM3.2, TM3.3; Uplink FRC/PUCCH test modes
  • EVM Measurement: RMS and peak EVM per 3GPP TS 36.104 specifications
  • Channel Bandwidths: 1.4, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 MHz
  • Complete Channel Analysis: Downlink CRS, PSS, SSS, PCFICH, PDCCH, PHICH, PBCH, PDSCH; Uplink PUCCH, PUSCH, SRS
  • Flexible Configuration: Normal/Extended cyclic prefix, 1/2/4 antenna ports, spectrum mirroring
  • Comprehensive Error Statistics: Channel power, EVM, data EVM, frequency error, sync correlation, time offset, Cell ID
  • Multiple Display Formats: I/Q diagrams, constellation, eye diagrams, phase diagrams, error vector displays, RB error magnitude
  • Software-Based: Can be added to existing UTS5000A analyzers via licensing

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE?

FDD-LTE uses separate frequencies for uplink and downlink transmission simultaneously, while TDD-LTE uses a single frequency and alternates between uplink and downlink in time slots. FDD is the dominant deployment mode in North America, Western Europe, and Japan. TDD is widely used in China, India, and parts of Asia-Pacific. The measurement parameters and channel structures differ between the two modes, which is why they are separate software options.

Can the FDD-LTE option be added after purchasing the analyzer?

Yes—the FDD-LTE option is software-based and can be added to any UTS5000A analyzer at any time through software licensing. Contact your UNI-T representative or authorized distributor for licensing and installation.

Complete FDD-LTE demodulation and 3GPP compliance analysis—1.4 MHz to 20 MHz carrier bandwidths with full uplink and downlink support.
