UNI-T UT622A Handheld LCR Meter

Overview

The UT622A is a professional-grade handheld LCR meter for component measurement in the field, on the bench, and in the classroom. It measures inductance, capacitance, resistance, impedance, ESR, and D/Q at test frequencies of 100 Hz, 120 Hz, 1 kHz, and 10 kHz with 0.1% basic accuracy, using a 4-wire Kelvin connection for clean low-impedance readings.

Selectable test signal levels, series/parallel equivalent-circuit modelling, open/short correction, and tolerance sorting make it a capable verification tool, and a rechargeable Li-polymer pack gives about 8 hours of portable use on a 2.8-inch color display.

Key Features

  • Measures L, C, R, Z, ESR, and D/Q with 0.1% basic accuracy
  • Test frequencies: 100 Hz, 120 Hz, 1 kHz, 10 kHz
  • 4-wire Kelvin connection with open/short correction
  • Series and parallel equivalent-circuit modelling
  • Selectable test signal: 0.1 / 0.3 / 1 Vrms
  • Tolerance sorting from 1% to 20%; up to 20 readings/s
  • 500-group data logging over USB
  • 2.8-inch TFT display; ~8 h rechargeable Li-polymer

UT622A Details

4-Wire Kelvin Measurement

A 4-wire Kelvin connection separates the drive and sense paths so lead and contact resistance don't corrupt the reading — essential for low-impedance components where milliohm-level errors matter. Open and short correction nulls fixture and lead effects before a measurement run.

Full Parameter Set

Beyond L, C, and R, the meter reads impedance (Z), equivalent series resistance (ESR), dissipation factor (D), and quality factor (Q), with series or parallel equivalent-circuit modelling and impedance phase from −179.9° to 179.9° — the parameters needed to characterize a part, not just read its nominal value.

Sorting & Logging

A tolerance-comparison function sorts parts pass/fail from 1% to 20% bands at up to 20 measurements per second, suited to incoming inspection and small-batch QC. Results log to 500 groups and transfer over USB.

Portable Build

A 2.8-inch 320×240 TFT display, a rechargeable 1800 mAh Li-polymer pack good for about 8 hours, and a 420 g body make the UT622A practical to carry between bench, field, and lab.

Frequently Asked Questions

What parameters does the UT622A measure?

Inductance, capacitance, resistance, impedance, ESR, and dissipation/quality factor (D/Q), at 0.1% basic accuracy.

What test frequencies are available?

100 Hz, 120 Hz, 1 kHz, and 10 kHz.

How does it compare to the UT622C and UT622E?

The UT622C adds a 100 kHz test frequency and Kelvin leads; the UT622E adds 100 kHz plus DC resistance (DCR) measurement.
