UNI-T UT568B Acoustic Imaging Camera

Overview

The UT568B is a 138-microphone acoustic imaging camera that shows you sound. It maps ultrasonic and audible noise from 2 kHz to 100 kHz onto a live 13 MP camera image at 25 frames per second, so a compressed-air leak, a vacuum leak, or partial discharge appears as a coloured hotspot you can point to from several metres away.

A 4.3 in touchscreen, on-screen analysis, laser rangefinder, and single/multi/hologram imaging modes make it quick to locate and document a source. The IP54 body, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and voice control suit plant walkdowns; results save as JPEG images and MP4 video. It's backed by UNI-T's nearly 40 years of test-meter manufacturing.

UT568B Details

See Sound with a 138-Mic Array

An array of 138 digital MEMS microphones triangulates where a sound originates and overlays it as a colour map on the camera image — turning an inspection you'd do by ear into a picture you can point to, document, and share.

Leak & Partial-Discharge Detection

Covering 2 kHz to 100 kHz, the UT568B picks up the ultrasonic signatures of compressed-air and vacuum leaks and of electrical partial discharge — failures that are inaudible or hard to localize by ear, found from a safe standoff distance.

Locate from a Distance

A laser rangefinder and a 0.3 m–150 m detection range let you scan equipment, piping, and switchgear from the ground or a walkway, while single, multi, and hologram imaging modes suit different inspection tasks.

Document & Field Use

A 4.3 in touchscreen with on-screen analysis, JPEG and MP4 capture to a 128 GB card, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth transfer, and voice control make the UT568B quick to use and easy to report from on a plant walkdown.

Applications

Compressed-air and vacuum leak surveys in plants and utilities; partial-discharge inspection on switchgear and high-voltage equipment; energy-loss audits; and predictive-maintenance walkdowns where finding a source by ear is slow or unsafe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an acoustic imaging camera do?

It uses a microphone array to locate sound and overlays it as a colour map on a camera image, so leaks and discharge appear as visible hotspots.

What can the UT568B detect?

Compressed-air and vacuum leaks and electrical partial discharge, across a 2 kHz–100 kHz range.

How far away can it detect a source?

From about 0.3 m to 150 m, with a laser rangefinder to gauge distance.
