Overview
The MSO3054X is a 500 MHz 4-channel nine-in-one oscilloscope platform that integrates a digital oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, protocol analyzer, arbitrary waveform generator, digital voltmeter, frequency counter, Bode plot analyzer, power analyzer, and pattern generator into a single 10.1-inch touchscreen instrument. It samples at 5 GSa/s with 500 Mpts memory depth and captures waveforms at up to 2,000,000 wfms/s using Ultra Phosphor 3.0 display technology.
Embedded serial protocols (RS-232, UART, I²C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485) are included standard. Automotive protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay, SENT, Audio, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Manchester) and the AWG, logic analyzer, and power analysis functions are available as optional software licenses.

The 5 GSa/s sample rate and 500 Mpts memory maintain full waveform fidelity across the 500 MHz bandwidth. The 2,000,000 wfms/s capture rate is among the fastest available, increasing the probability of catching rare anomalies that slower scopes miss. Ultra Phosphor 3.0 uses intensity grading to show signal frequency of occurrence — frequent signals appear brighter, making it intuitive to distinguish normal behavior from intermittent faults.

Built-In Spectrum Analyzer
Switch to frequency domain analysis at the push of a button. The spectrum analyzer provides FFT-based spectral measurement with peak table, markers, and channel power calculations. Protocol Analysis and Decoding
The MSO3054X includes RS-232, UART, I²C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485 decoding standard — decoded frames display directly on waveform traces with field-level annotation for immediate correlation between protocol events and analog signal behavior. Additional protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay, SENT, Audio, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Manchester) are available as optional software licenses.

Bode Plot Analysis
Automated frequency response measurement sweeps a signal source across a frequency range while measuring gain and phase. The result is a Bode plot displayed directly on screen — essential for characterizing power supply control loops, verifying filter rolloff, and measuring amplifier bandwidth. Requires the optional AWG or an external signal source.

Optional Power Analysis
The power analysis option adds automated switching loss measurement, safe operating area (SOA) visualization, ripple analysis, harmonics and THD measurement, and efficiency calculation. Frequently Asked Questions
What protocols are included standard?
RS-232, UART, I²C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485 decoding is included at no additional cost. CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay, SENT, Audio, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Manchester are available as optional software licenses.
Is the AWG included?
No. The arbitrary waveform generator is an optional software license. Once activated, it provides dual-channel 25 MHz output from the Gen Out connectors on the rear panel.
Can I add digital (logic) channels?
Yes. The UT-M15 logic probe pod adds 16 digital channels. You also need the logic analyzer software license for your series.
How does the MSO3000X compare to the other X-series?
The MSO2000X offers 100 Mpts memory at a lower price point. The MSO3000X doubles that to 500 Mpts and adds aerospace/MIL protocol options. The MSO7000X provides 10 GSa/s, 1 Gpts, a 15.6-inch display, and optional jitter/eye analysis for high-speed digital design.
