MSO3000X-BW3M5T5M 500MHz Bandwidth Upgrade
Overview
The MSO3000X-BW3M5T5M upgrades your MSO3034X from 350MHz to 500MHz bandwidth — capturing faster edges and higher-frequency content without replacing the instrument. The upgrade is a software license key; the hardware already supports 500MHz.
A 350MHz oscilloscope faithfully reproduces signals up to roughly 350MHz. Clock signals, digital buses, or switching transients with content above that are attenuated — rounded edges, reduced amplitude. Upgrading to 500MHz gives you the headroom to see what's actually happening.
Key Features
- 350MHz → 500MHz Bandwidth — Upgrades all analog channels on your MSO3034X.
- Faster Rise Times — Higher bandwidth means accurately capturing faster edges — critical for signal integrity on high-speed interfaces.
- No Hardware Changes — Bandwidth is software-defined. Enter the key and operate at 500MHz immediately.
- Instant Activation — System → Options → Install. No reboot, no factory calibration.
- Investment Protection — Start with a lower bandwidth at a lower price, upgrade as requirements grow.
When You Need This
Growing Requirements
A new project needs more than 350MHz bandwidth. Upgrade instead of buying a new oscilloscope.
Signal Integrity
Compliance testing requires capturing fast edges accurately. The 500MHz upgrade gives you bandwidth to see the true signal shape.
Compatible Instruments
This upgrade applies only to the MSO3034X (350MHz). Not needed if your instrument already has 500MHz bandwidth or higher.
Other Bandwidth Upgrades
No other bandwidth upgrades for this series.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which model does this apply to?
Exclusively the MSO3034X (350MHz). If your instrument already has 500MHz bandwidth or higher, this upgrade is not needed.
Does bandwidth affect sample rate or memory?
No. Sample rate and memory depth are unchanged. Only analog bandwidth is unlocked.
How is this option activated?
You receive a license key after purchase. Enter the key in the instrument's menu under System → Options → Install. The capability is available immediately — no reboot, no hardware modification, no factory service required.
Is the license permanent or subscription-based?
All UNI-T software option licenses are permanent, one-time purchases. Once activated, the option remains available for the life of the instrument. No annual renewals or subscription fees.
